What is this webinar about?
This webinar is intended to explore opportunities for increased patient engagement in specialty society registries, especially through partnerships and collaborations between specialty societies and patient groups. Panelists include CMSS and NHC leadership and representatives from specialty societies, registries and patient organizations who will share respective journeys toward increasing patient engagement.

This webinar was funded through a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award (EA #8565).

Why is this topic important?
Patient and family engagement is increasingly acknowledged as a key component of a complete approach to achieving high quality and affordability in health care.  The patient perspective is important for understanding and interpreting clinical research so that patients, families, and caregivers can be informed members of the healthcare team.  Medical-specialty society registries provide an opportunity for partnership and collaboration with patient groups to ensure registries address questions important to patients, collect data on the outcomes patients care about, and drive meaningful improvement.
